We booked at the very last moment, but we got the booking that's a relief. Everything was homely, they provided an RO machine in the room with a small kitchen with necessary utensils, clean bathroom , only there was a problem with the mosquito in the room which I think is common when there is rain with room on the ground floor. So advance booking in the rainy season will increase the chance of getting good rooms on the first floor. The view from the room was fantastic with majestic mountains and forest. The owner of the homestay is a very sweet humble and welcoming lady. We got everything we wanted to order for breakfast or lunch. They even customize their food preparation according to your taste. In general it was a nice weekend visit. I would like to book the same place again later.
It was such a great experience for me n family to stay at Oxygen Dehradun for the third time and Swati mam is so generous and a gem of a person, always greeted us as her family member. The place is serene filled with nature bliss and views are breathtaking. 200% recommended for family, bachelors, friends. Thank u so much for the hospitality.
We had a wonderful time here. Arpit kumar the caretaker helped us a lot. The owner of this property is very polite and understanding. She personally look after the the things in the homestay. All the things have been arranged so efficiently. Food was very good. You will get your personal kitchen also. Grocery and vegetables shops are on just few minutes walking. The ambience is very clean. It is very friendly for kids. If you come here you will definitely extend your stay here. Few sentences can't explain the beauty of this place. Must visit this place.
What a lovely homestay. I took my parents for their 30th anniversary. They just fell in love with the stay. The food was also very good. Vikas ji (Staff) was too supportive. We enjoyed a lot. Best property to have a staycation with your family and close to nature.
Pros : Great views, quiet, away from noise of cities. Central kitchen prepares simple set meals. Owner is approachable and is quick to address your queries and questions and clears it that they are running a homestay and not a hotel. Rules for guests. Mostly repeat visitors or elderly guests. Prompt staff.. Cons: They are quick to encourage you to cancel bookings from digital platforms and book directly from them, thereby avoiding relevant taxes associated with hospitality industry. The cleaning staff needs a lot of training and good cleaning products, if the owners are against chemical products then natural good quality fragrant products can be used. The unit (2bedroom with kitchenette on first floor right next to entrance has a spider, lizard and insects infestation. One 3-4 inch non venomous tarantula casually crawled out of the kitchen after which I lost all interest in the kitchen and RO. One of the AC flaps was broken and full of dust. Various sizes of spiders and lizards and bugs roamed around the room the whole night. Now I understand that it's due to the greenery in the property.. But I have a front and back garden at my house and I use natural pest control services to keep them away from the insides of the house, also I keep my house clean and all wall and fixture cervices repaired. Which doesn't seem to be the case with this homestay. The linens and towels were all having a stale smell. Their were issues with the toilet seat and jet spray as well. Lots of areas in the property had stagnant and dirty water accumulation. The property needs a rehaul and the dark paint needs to be turned to light colour to be able to see the dirt and remediate it. I have stayed in low cost homestays and I was expecting some lapses which are normal in case of homestays but I draw a line on sanitation and that's where the need a lot of work. Recommendation: increase the cost a bit and get the staff trained of right cleaning techniques suitable for a homestay that wants to entertain guests. It may seem to the owner that I am spoiling their rating, but I am telling the truth and the only reason I decided to go this detailed is because my stay and experience was compromised due to the lack of cleanliness and infestations and insect poops around the floor which was no where on the internet, had I seen those pictures I wouldn't have come so I feel cheated due to selected pictures and manipulated reviews.
